The In-Room Dining Server role at Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is a vital position within this renowned hospitality establishment. The position requires working morning shifts from 5:45 AM to 11:30 AM throughout the week, emphasizing the importance of morning availability for coverage. As an In-Room Dining Server, you will be the face of the hotel’s dining services, responsible for timely and courteous food and beverage delivery, order accuracy, and maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a server in dining or hotel environment
  • Availability to work morning shifts from 5:45 to 11:30 AM
  • Physical ability to carry heavy trays and stand for long periods
  • Food handler certification or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills including POS system knowledge

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a server in a fast-paced dining or hotel environment
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage and interact positively with guests
  • Ability to work AM shifts across 7 days a week
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
  • Knowledge of POS systems and basic computer skills for order processing
  • A commitment to delivering high levels of customer service and maintaining Omni's standards of excellence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision
  • Physical ability to carry and deliver heavy trays and stand for extended periods
  • Must have unexpired food handlers or obtain upon hire
  • MICROS experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare and deliver food and beverage orders to guests in a timely, efficient, and courteous manner
  • Ensure accuracy of orders by carefully reviewing them before delivery and making necessary adjustments
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and specials to answer guest queries confidently
  • Set up and break down in-room dining trays and tables, ensuring a neat and attractive presentation according to Omni standards
  • Adhere to safety and hygiene protocols at all times, including proper handling of food and utensils
  • Process payments accurately and promptly, providing guests with a seamless dining experience
  • Build and maintain positive guest relations by engaging with guests to enhance their stay and encourage return visits
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and other hotel departments to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction
  • Manage inventory and par level stock of commonly used beverages, condiments, and accessories
  • Handle guest feedback with professionalism and forward any concerns to management promptly
