Job Description
This opportunity is with an established hotel offering comprehensive in-room dining services to enhance guest stay experiences. The organization prides itself on providing exceptional hospitality through attentive service and seamless coordination among staff to meet and exceed guest expectations. The company operates in a dynamic environment focused on delivering quality food and beverage options directly to guest rooms, ensuring convenience and comfort. The role is full-time with flexible scheduling including weekends, evenings, and holidays to align with business needs. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, reflecting the importance of the role in contributing to guest satisfaction and revenue growth.
The In-Room Dining Cashier position is pivotal within the hotel's guest service operations. It centers on managing and processing incoming guest orders for room service with accuracy and professionalism. This role requires a thorough knowledge of the menu and beverages including wines, beers, and liquors to provide detailed descriptions and recommend items suited to guest preferences. In addition to taking orders by phone and inputting them into the POS system, the In-Room Dining Cashier liaises closely with kitchen and delivery staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders. Attention to detail is crucial, particularly in recording special dietary needs, posting charges correctly to guest accounts, and accurately handling payments and reconciling sales reports.
Beyond transactional duties, this role emphasizes excellent guest communication, a professional demeanor, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting. The Cashier also participates in maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas, adhering strictly to all hospitality safety protocols including PPE and HAZMAT guidelines. Additional responsibilities include assisting servers when necessary, handling guest inquiries across multiple communication channels, escalating issues appropriately, and supporting overall in-room dining operations. Physical demands of the job include standing, walking, and safely handling hot trays and glassware, making physical stamina and safety awareness essential.
This role demands compliance with all relevant alcohol service laws and health regulations, highlighting the importance of certifications such as TIPS and a valid Food Handler Card. The hotel also values individuals capable of confidentiality and discretion with sensitive guest information. The In-Room Dining Cashier contributes directly to guest satisfaction and revenue maximization by offering upsells and ensuring smooth order processing. This multifaceted position offers growth potential within the hospitality industry and the chance to play a key role in delivering memorable guest experiences.
