The hiring establishment is a reputable healthcare and residential care facility dedicated to providing compassionate and professional care for elderly and disabled residents. This company focuses on creating a comfortable and supportive environment where residents can enjoy quality meals served with respect and kindness. The company prides itself on maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and customer service to ensure that each resident’s dining experience is pleasant and meets their individual needs. The work environment is dynamic, requiring staff to adapt to the varying needs of residents and to work collaboratively with other team members to deliver excellent care.
The role being offered is that of a wait staff member who will be responsible for providing courteous and professional meal service in the dining room to all residents and their guests. This position is critical in ensuring that mealtimes are enjoyable and efficient. The wait staff member will take food orders, serve meals and beverages, and attend to any special dietary needs or preferences of the residents. Additionally, the role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization within the dining area and kitchen, adhering to strict sanitation protocols as outlined in the facility’s manual. This includes resetting tables, verifying orders, and assisting in cleaning duties as required. Candidates will be expected to follow infection control standards and universal precautions to maintain a safe environment for both residents and staff.
The position requires someone with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and an empathetic approach to elderly care. The wait staff must be able to handle the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, and lifting, and should be comfortable using computer systems or POS kiosks to process resident orders. The company mandates a background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, ensuring that all staff members are suitable for working in this sensitive and responsible role.
Candidates will receive training on the facility’s procedures and must be willing to participate in ongoing education to maintain professional competence. Flexibility to work beyond normal hours, including weekends and temporary assignments in other roles, is essential. The company values staff members who demonstrate integrity, patience, and sensitivity when working with ill or emotionally upset residents. Respect for residents’ rights, confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines, and adherence to health and safety standards are fundamental expectations of this position. Overall, this role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the well-being and comfort of residents within a respected healthcare community, combining service excellence with compassionate care.
