Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience in human resources or related area
  • OR 2-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major
  • ability to assist in recruitment and hiring
  • knowledge of unemployment claims processing
  • experience supporting training and development programs
  • capability to maintain employee communication channels
  • understanding of legal and compliance practices
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • willingness to work a 32 hour work week
  • location based at Boston Marriott Long Wharf

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED with 2 years experience in human resources or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major with no work experience required
  • knowledge of recruitment and hiring processes
  • understanding of benefits administration
  • familiar with employee relations best practices
  • experience or knowledge in legal compliance and document management
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Job Duties

  • assist in interviewing and hiring human resource employee team members
  • assist in establishing and maintaining contact with external recruitment sources
  • attend job fairs and document outreach efforts
  • network with local organizations to source candidates
  • assist in monitoring candidate identification and selection
  • perform quality control on candidate identification and selection
  • work with unemployment services provider to respond to claims
  • review provider reports and correct errors
  • assist with unemployment claim activity reports
  • attend unemployment hearings as needed
  • assist with departmental orientation and new hire training
  • ensure employees are cross-trained
  • coordinate new hire orientation programs
  • maintain effective employee communication channels
  • utilize an open door policy for employee concerns
  • refer employee issues to managers or HR directors
  • partner with loss prevention for accident investigations
  • communicate performance expectations
  • ensure employee files contain required documentation
  • assist with compliance of employee file audits and privacy
  • maintain separate confidential medical files
  • facilitate drug testing processes
  • communicate property rules and safety policies
  • assist with periodic claims reviews and workers compensation management
