Job Description
RK Industries is a prominent second-generation family-owned company led by brothers Rick and Jon Kinning, dedicated to delivering excellence across seven specialized business units encompassing construction, fabrication, manufacturing, and building services. With an unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and craftsmanship, RK Industries fosters a dynamic and collaborative environment where employees thrive by transforming ideas into tangible solutions. The company prides itself on its deeply ingrained culture of craftsmanship and complexity, which offers employees an opportunity to make a real and meaningful impact through their work. At RK Industries, 'Self.Made.' is not just a tagline but a philosophy that drives how work is approached—from concept and design directly to the shop floor and job site, accelerating innovation and execution across projects.
The role being offered is a Safety Supervisor position, focused on instilling RK’s unmatched culture of safety across all levels of employees to ensure compliance with health and safety standards locally, statewide, federally, and within customer and company policies. This role demands a proactive leader accredited with a bachelor’s degree in safety or related fields, or equivalent experience, along with 5+ years of field and safety experience in the construction industry. It offers the chance to carry out a comprehensive safety program that includes training, coaching, mentoring, safety inspections, risk management, and compliance oversight. The Safety Supervisor is instrumental in fostering positive, long-term relationships with subcontractors and business partners, promoting a balance between teamwork and stringent safety practices.
Key responsibilities involve supporting the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) program through administering ongoing safety initiatives, carrying out site inspections, responding to incident investigations, preparing safety reports, and coordinating with project teams to address necessary safety supplies and site-specific safety planning. In addition, the supervisor will evaluate training needs and deliver safety training programs aimed at reducing workplace hazards, coordinating with OSHA inspections, and implementing corrective safety measures as needed. The role also involves leadership and advisory functions related to legal environmental cleanup and corporate EMR reduction strategies, requiring excellent organizational and communication skills alongside proficiency in computer applications.
RK Industries stands out through its unique blend of family-owned company stability combined with the momentum and opportunities offered by an industry leader. The company also emphasizes employee growth through RK University and accredited apprenticeship programs that provide hands-on training, leadership development, and technical skill advancement. Benefits include competitive compensation and an extensive support system for employee wellness, professional development, and community involvement through its philanthropic RK Foundation. This job opportunity invites dedicated safety professionals looking to contribute to a respectful and high-impact work environment with ongoing career growth possibilities. Applications are accepted continuously to welcome qualified candidates eager to make safety an integral part of their career journey at RK Industries.
