In addition to these crucial tasks, you will assist Room Attendants by preparing guest rooms for cleaning, which includes stripping linens from vacated rooms. You will also be in charge of collecting and removing soiled linens, trash, and recyclables from guest floors and organizing housekeeping closets to ensure necessary supplies and equipment are well-stocked and readily available. Your role extends to responding promptly and courteously to guest requests for extra linens, cribs, rollaway beds, and more. Being proactive and attentive to detail will be key as you may also be asked to help set up and break down meeting or event rooms as assigned.

Maintaining cleanliness in service areas such as storage rooms and housekeeping workspaces will fall under your purview, along with promptly reporting any maintenance or safety issues, such as spills, broken equipment, or lighting problems. Strict adherence to all hotel safety, security, and sanitation protocols is mandatory. As a frontline team member frequently interacting with guests and coworkers, your professionalism and courteous demeanor will contribute significantly to the overall guest experience. This role requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling chemicals, following safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines, and compliance with all fire and health regulations.

The Housekeeping Houseperson will also support other departments when necessary, fostering strong working relationships across the organization to ensure seamless operations. The position calls for physical endurance, as it involves prolonged periods of standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, and climbing stairs. Candidates must be capable of pushing up to 75 pounds and lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds to manage the physical demands effectively.
