The Houseperson role at TownePlace Suites Jacksonville is essential for ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction. This position plays a crucial role in upholding MCR’s MCR Universal Role Standards, which prioritize happy guests, spotless cleanliness, product consistency and quality, and teamwork. The Houseperson is responsible for managing luggage storage and retrieval, maintaining cleanliness in guest hallways, stairwells, and other service areas, handling trash management inside and outside the hotel, and restocking linens and guest amenities. This role requires a proactive team member who pitches in wherever needed, displaying hospitality even while performing cleaning duties by greeting guests with a smile and personalized recognition.

The individual in this role must maintain a spotless workspace and ensure all public and back-of-house areas are clean and organized. They also oversee the upkeep and appropriate placement of public space furniture and must report any issues promptly. A significant aspect of the role includes adhering to operational checklists with 100% accuracy and ensuring smooth shift handovers for constant operational excellence. Team members must wear flawless uniforms and exhibit a professional demeanor at all times. Communication and collaboration with other team members are critical, along with maintaining a positive, can-do attitude to support the business and guest needs effectively.

Physical demands of the Houseperson role include activities such as stooping, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, standing, walking long distances, repetitive motions, and lifting equipment or linens. Candidates must be able to meet these physical requirements to perform the essential functions of the job successfully. Furthermore, the position requires flexibility to work varied schedules that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Duties

  • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile

  • store and retrieve luggage or packages for guests as needed
  • clean and maintain guest hallways, stairwells, service areas and ice rooms
  • collect trash from garbage receptacles and common grounds
  • manage trash and soiled linen delivery to laundry room
  • monitor public space furniture and report issues to management
  • restock guest floor linen closets and guest amenities
  • replenish amenities and supplies in assigned guestrooms
  • stock and maintain housekeeping cart
