Job Description
Winston Hospitality is a respected hotel management company known for its dedication to providing exceptional guest experiences across a diverse portfolio of hotel brands. Committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and hospitality, Winston Hospitality partners with renowned hotels to ensure their facilities operate efficiently and guest satisfaction remains paramount. The company places a strong emphasis on cleanliness, safety, and professionalism, fostering an environment where both guests and staff feel valued and supported. With a focus on brand standards and corporate policies, Winston Hospitality supports its employees with thorough training and development opportunities to deliver consistent service excellence throughout all managed properties.
The role of a Public Area Attendant at Winston Hospitality is pivotal in maintaining the pristine condition of guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public vending areas within the hotel. This position plays a vital role in supporting room attendants and upholding the specific standards of cleanliness and quality dictated by both Winston Hospitality and the respective hotel brand. The attendant is responsible for ensuring that all public and back-of-house areas reflect the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction and safety. This role requires attention to detail, a proactive attitude toward cleaning and maintenance tasks, and a willingness to assist with various duties that contribute to the overall guest experience.
Public Area Attendants perform a variety of tasks, including stocking linen closets and housekeeping carts with necessary amenities, emptying soiled linen and trash from attendant carts, and cleaning common areas such as lobbies, restrooms, and offices. They are expected to use the proper cleaning chemicals following OSHA guidelines, vacuum and mop floors, polish mirrors and door numbers, and respond promptly to any guest requests or concerns. In addition, attendants may assist with moving furniture, flipping mattresses, and setting up cribs or rollaway beds as required by supervisors.
The role requires a blend of physical endurance and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members. Public Area Attendants must be vigilant in reporting damages, suspicious activities, or safety hazards, ensuring that all public spaces are secure and free of obstructions, particularly around fire exits and stairwells. This position not only supports the housekeeping team during busy periods but also contributes to overall hotel operations by providing emergency instructions and assisting in the maintenance of brand quality standards.
This employment opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and are passionate about cleanliness, safety, and customer service. While prior janitorial experience is preferred, the company provides thorough training to help new hires develop the necessary skills and knowledge related to sanitation requirements, chemical handling, and brand policy adherence. The role typically involves physical activity such as lifting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods, making physical fitness an important aspect for success.
