Sierra Vista Post-Acute is a well-established skilled nursing and rehabilitation community located in Modesto, California. With a capacity of 120 beds, this facility is dedicated to providing comprehensive care focused on helping residents recover, rebuild, and regain independence. The Housekeeping Staff role is vital to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and safety within the facility. This position is responsible for performing day-to-day housekeeping duties in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as facility guidelines. Keeping resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and public spaces clean and sanitary is essential to promoting a safe and comfortable living environment. Responsibilities include cleaning, polishing, sanitizing, and maintaining a wide variety of surfaces and fixtures such as furniture, heating and cooling units, bathroom fixtures, windows, floors, carpets, walls, ceilings, and outdoor areas. Attention to detail and the ability to follow proper cleaning protocols, including isolation cleaning procedures to prevent infection, are essential aspects of the job.

Housekeeping Staff also ensure proper disposal of waste and infectious materials, maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, and adhere to safety standards by setting up caution signs when necessary. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
  • Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating and cooling units in resident rooms, recreational areas daily
  • Clean, wash, sanitize, and polish bathroom fixtures ensuring removal of water marks
  • Clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways
  • Clean floors including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting following proper safety procedures
  • Clean carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting
  • Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing
  • Remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions
  • Clean hallways and outdoor areas as assigned
  • Discard waste and trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles
  • Clean vacant rooms as assigned
  • Ensure work and assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies are properly stored and locked when necessary
  • Perform isolation cleaning procedures following infection control protocols
  • Discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers
