The Langham, Boston, seeks a proactive and passionate PM Housekeeping Manager to join its esteemed housekeeping team. This role is pivotal in upholding the high cleanliness, service, and operational standards that define The Langham brand. The PM Housekeeping Manager will oversee the daily shift operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments, ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas meet or surpass the stringent Langham standards. This position involves direct guest engagement activities and extensive colleague administrative duties, combining hands-on leadership with operational management. The role requires working closely with the housekeeping team to maintain exceptional cleanliness and service levels, managing budgets effectively, and ensuring colleague satisfaction and growth. Responsibilities include leading the housekeeping team in the absence of senior management, monitoring safe and proper usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment, handling guest requests promptly, supervising inspections, managing staffing and schedules for optimal coverage, and actively participating in maintaining a motivating workplace environment. The housekeeper manager will also train, coach, and develop team members, conduct regular performance appraisals, and ensure compliance with safety and sustainability standards.

Applicants must have preferably 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience in housekeeping within a luxury hotel environment and demonstrate strong leadership and decision-making abilities. The candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a guest-first mindset. Physical stamina to stand and move around during long shifts and to perform various physical tasks is critical. The successful candidate will enjoy an attractive annual salary ranging between $75,000 and $83,000, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package including medical benefits, 401k match, tuition reimbursement, public transportation subsidy, and a referral incentive program, among other perks. Job Requirements

  • Preferably 2-3 years of housekeeping experience in a supervisory or management role in a luxury hotel
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
  • Physical ability to stand and move around for the length of shift
  • Physical capacity to perform activities including lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing or pulling up to 100 lbs
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing occupational safety
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills

Job Qualifications

  • Preferably 2-3 years of housekeeping experience in a supervisory or management role in a luxury hotel
  • Strong team spirit and leadership skills
  • Detailed oriented with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of housekeeping service techniques and cost control
  • Ability to lead, motivate a team and maintain highest standards of service
  • Sufficient knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office and service optimization tools such as Shiji or HotSOS
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Lead the housekeeping team in absence of director and assistant director
  • Ensure highest level of guest room and public areas cleanliness aligned with Langham standards of service
  • Ensure proper and safe usage of chemicals, cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment by monitoring usage, providing training, and ensuring proper labeling
  • Expediently handle all guest requests, inquiries, and issues while communicating with appropriate departments
  • Support and supervise the inspection program for guest rooms, public and colleague areas
  • Schedule, assign, oversee and inspect completion of all work assignments and projects during shift
  • Ensure that all housekeeping colleagues have appropriate tools, supplies, equipment and uniforms during shift
