The open position is for a Housekeeping Manager, a critical role focused on leading and supporting the housekeeping team to maintain The William Vale’s high standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency. The role is tailored for a team-oriented and solution-driven leader who excels in communication and is detail-conscious, aiming to enhance both the guest and employee experiences continually. The Housekeeping Manager will oversee a variety of responsibilities including staff training, adherence to company policies and OSHA standards, payroll management, and maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness across guest rooms and public areas in the hotel.
Candidates must have between one to three years of management experience in hotel housekeeping, preferably within luxury properties, and should be familiar with the NY Local 6 Union regulations. Furthermore, a thorough understanding of Forbes Travel Guide standards is essential, as the role requires upholding these stringent criteria across all housekeeping operations. Duties will include conducting training programs, coaching staff with an emphasis on continuous growth, inspection of rooms and facilities, managing housekeeping inventories, and actively engaging with both guests and colleagues to foster an inclusive and efficient workplace culture. The position demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and endure long periods of standing, bending, or kneeling throughout shifts.
The Housekeeping Manager needs to demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively to meet the demands of a 24-hour operational hotel setting. They will establish strong cross-departmental relationships to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service delivery. Technological proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Email, is required to securely manage records and communication.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of $70,000. The William Vale is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion, actively encouraging applicants from all backgrounds, including minorities, women, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. The organization participates in E-Verify and complies with all federal employment laws, ensuring fair treatment and equal opportunity for all employees.
