Job Requirements

  • No prior experience required
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • valid state driver's license required
  • able to perform physical cleaning duties
  • able to work full-time (35 plus hours)
  • capable of working in a team setting
  • availability to work during inclement weather and emergencies
  • willingness to obtain housekeeping and food handling certifications
  • good communication skills
  • ability to interact with guests and staff professionally

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • preferred 6 months housekeeping experience
  • leadership and training experience
  • ability to perform physical cleaning tasks
  • strong guest service and communication skills
  • ability to use hand and powered cleaning equipment
  • valid state driver's license
  • knowledge of safety and bloodborne pathogens protocols
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and security
  • skills in inventory and supply management
  • capability to manage team schedules and work assignments
  • willingness to obtain Navy Hospitality Group certification within 6 months

Job Duties

  • Train and demonstrate proper work methods and procedures for all personnel
  • assure efficient and economical cleaning methods are implemented
  • ensure required cleaning materials and linen are available
  • work alongside team members to accomplish housekeeping tasks
  • maintain information on housekeeping work performed
  • maintain continuity in the absence of immediate supervisor
  • greet and welcome guests maintaining outstanding guest relations
  • conduct daily inspections of rooms, carts, common areas, and laundry facilities with documentation
  • ensure privacy and security of guests
  • secure storeroom and assigned storage areas
  • order and maintain cleaning supplies, in-room amenities, and equipment
  • issue supplies and linen to attendants
  • perform monthly or quarterly inventory as required
  • handle guest and staff suggestions and complaints tactfully
  • perform full range of housekeeping services including cleaning guest rooms, public spaces, and laundry rooms
  • set-up and clean-up of the complimentary self-service breakfast bar
  • maintain a clean and safe environment following safety protocols
  • perform and inspect laundry operations
  • travel to other lodging facilities as required
  • maintain operations during emergencies
  • obtain required housekeeping and food handling certifications
  • perform other related duties as assigned
