Today, St. Marks operates a 308-plus bed facility that provides comprehensive medical care across multiple specialties, including neurosciences, trauma, orthopedics, cardiac care, and robotic surgery. Recognized repeatedly on the Fortune/IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals list as one of the top performing teaching hospitals in the United States, St. Marks is committed to the highest standards of medical excellence and community service. The hospital also extends its emergency care services through two freestanding emergency centers located in Taylorsville and West Valley. These facilities ensure 24/7 access to emergency care, staffed by board-certified emergency room physicians and nurses, along with advanced imaging and laboratory services.

Nestled at the foot of the scenic Wasatch Mountains, St. Marks Hospital offers a unique combination of urban access and proximity to outdoor recreational opportunities, making it an ideal workplace for healthcare professionals who value both career growth and quality of life. Environmental Services Floor Technicians are responsible for maintaining patient and non-patient areas in a sanitary state by performing specialized cleaning tasks using heavy-duty and specialized equipment such as floor buffers, carpet extractors, upholstery attachments, vacuums, and floor scrubbers. Flexibility and teamwork are key attributes for this role, as duties often include the distribution and pickup of biohazard barrels, linen management, and waste disposal.

This role provides an opportunity to engage in meaningful work that directly impacts the safety and well-being of patients and staff while supporting the hospital’s commitment to environmental health standards. Technicians also participate in staff meetings and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring continuous enhancement of service delivery. The position emphasizes courteous and caring customer service, reflecting the hospital’s patient-centered approach.

Candidates for this role are expected to bring previous experience in environmental services, familiarity with cleaning supplies and tools, and prefer experience in floor care cleaning and maintenance.
