Job Description

The Navy Gateway Inn and Suites in Corpus Christi, Texas, provides high-quality lodging services to military personnel and their families. Operated under the auspices of the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) Hospitality Group, this property is part of a nationwide network of hospitality facilities dedicated to supporting the needs of the Navy community. The Navy Gateway Inn and Suites offers a welcoming environment with a strong focus on cleanliness, safety, and customer service, ensuring that guests enjoy a comfortable and satisfying stay.

This role is for a part-time Housekeeping position at the Navy Gateway Inn and Suites located in Corpus Christi, Texas, offering a pay rate of $18.03 per hour. The position plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and other designated spaces within the property. Housekeepers ensure that each guest's accommodation is meticulously cleaned and prepared, adhering to strict program standards. The job includes operating various cleaning machinery and tools, handling linens, and providing outstanding guest service.

Housekeepers at this facility are responsible for a broad range of duties including cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas; managing laundry operations; and performing both routine and deep cleans. The role involves physical tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing, and moving furniture. Employees also take care of minor maintenance, report irregularities, and ensure that amenities and appliances are in proper condition and functioning as expected. Their effort directly impacts the guest experience by creating a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment.

Working part-time, employees can expect to dedicate between 20 to 34.5 hours weekly. The position requires moderate physical effort, including the ability to move furniture and operate powered cleaning equipment. It also demands a commitment to maintaining security and privacy for all guests, as well as adherence to safety protocols, including those related to bloodborne pathogens.

The housekeeping role is integral to hotel operations, as housekeepers represent the first and last impression guests have of the property. This role requires good communication with supervisors and other team members, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude in maintaining high cleanliness standards. The successful candidate should be able to perform tasks independently, adhere to schedules, and comply with NEXCOM Hospitality Group protocols.

This opportunity is well-suited for candidates who are detail-oriented, physically capable, and enthusiastic about contributing to a positive guest experience in a military lodging environment. While prior experience is not mandatory, a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Certification in housekeeping from NEXCOM within six months of employment is required, underscoring the commitment to professional standards.
