Job Description

Blue Skies of Texas Senior Living Community is a distinguished provider of senior living services located in San Antonio, Texas. Established in 1970 with the opening of its first campus, Air Force Village I, followed by Air Force Village II in 1987, this community was initially created to serve retired officers of the armed forces, providing a supportive environment filled with camaraderie and a sense of shared purpose. Over the decades, it has evolved to embrace a broader spectrum of retired seniors, including those from civilian careers. In 2014, to reflect this inclusive ethos, the community was rebranded as Blue Skies of Texas, featuring two campuses known as Blue Skies East and Blue Skies West. Today, it offers modern residences combined with a variety of senior-focused services and amenities designed to empower its residents to live fulfilling and vibrant lives.

At Blue Skies of Texas, the philosophy extends beyond exceptional care to fostering a vibrant, diverse community where everyone’s talents and perspectives are truly valued. The community prides itself on creating a welcoming and dynamic atmosphere where both residents and staff can thrive. Blue Skies is dedicated to an empowering approach, focusing on engaging activities and personalized care aimed at enhancing quality of life. Moreover, the organization emphasizes the importance of work-life balance and employee satisfaction, eliminating concerns like late-night shifts to ensure a comfortable working environment.

Currently, Blue Skies of Texas is seeking dedicated professionals for its Environmental Services team, specifically for the role of Housekeeper. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of the living facilities. The Housekeeper’s responsibilities include performing daily housekeeping tasks in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role is essential in ensuring that the community spaces, as well as resident apartments, are kept in pristine condition, which directly contributes to the wellbeing and satisfaction of the residents.

This full-time role offers a range of attractive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, employer-paid short-term disability, tuition reimbursement and scholarship programs, an employee assistance program, a referral bonus program, generous paid time off, and retirement plans. These benefits underscore Blue Skies of Texas’s commitment to supporting and valuing its employees.

The Housekeeper will engage in routine cleaning activities such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, window washing, carpet spot cleaning, and general upkeep of bathrooms and kitchens. The role also includes reporting maintenance issues, adhering to security protocols including key control, and collaborating closely with supervisors to ensure the highest standards of service. By joining Blue Skies of Texas, Housekeepers have the unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a respected community environment, where their efforts significantly enhance the lives of senior residents while also enjoying a supportive and rewarding workplace.

In summary, Blue Skies of Texas Senior Living Community represents a unique blend of rich historical heritage and modern senior living. This is an ideal place for professionals seeking to make a positive impact in a respected and well-established community focused on care, engagement, and quality of life. The housekeeper role is instrumental in supporting this mission, providing essential services that help cultivate a safe, clean, and pleasant living environment. Candidates passionate about community service and senior care are strongly encouraged to apply and become a valued part of Blue Skies of Texas’s ongoing story of excellence and care.
