The Gladding Residence Center in Richmond, Virginia, is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join its Property Maintenance team. This is a full-time role reporting directly to the Service Manager and is focused on maintaining cleanliness and organization within the student housing community. As a Housekeeper at the Gladding Residence Center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the property and its amenities are immaculate and thoroughly maintained, which greatly enhances the overall living experience for the residents.

Your responsibilities will include routine cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, and trash removal throughout resident rooms and common areas. You will also be expected to clean and restock bathroom facilities, manage property turnover preparations, and assist in maintaining orderly storage and back-of-house areas. This hands-on position requires attention to detail and a willingness to contribute positively to the community by upholding property standards and ensuring a safe, clean environment for all residents.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, and trash removal
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals
  • Capability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks associated with housekeeping
  • Willingness to work full time
  • Effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general housekeeping and cleaning tasks
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to understand and carry out written or verbal multi-step instructions
  • Willingness to learn housekeeping and property upkeep techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability

Job Duties

  • Clean the property to standard, including vacuuming, mopping, and trash pickup
  • Vacuum, mop and/or shampoo floors in resident rooms and common areas
  • Clean and stock bathrooms, including tub, shower, and toilet areas
  • Assist in property turnover process
  • Assist in maintaining clean and orderly shops, storage areas, and back-of-house environments, ensuring all supplies are organized
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
