Job Description

This opportunity is with an executive couple residing in Lincoln Park, Chicago, IL, who are seeking a dedicated full-time Housekeeper to provide meticulous care for their spacious three-story home. Known for its charming neighborhood and vibrant community, Lincoln Park is a highly desirable location, adding to the appeal of this position. This family-oriented and well-established household values cleanliness, order, and a smooth-running home environment, and they are looking for a candidate who shares these values and can contribute positively to their domestic team.

The couple has school-aged children, which means the house is lively, and the role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to household management. The household already employs a House Manager and a second full-time Housekeeper, which means the candidate will be part of a supportive team. Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit are essential for success in this environment.

The position is full-time, with typical workdays from Monday through Friday, starting times flexible between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., depending on the candidate's preference and commute. The working hours span from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering a balanced daily schedule with the possibility of some weekend work. The principals are open to arranging Saturday coverage between the two housekeepers and welcome candidates who can occasionally work on Sundays, although it is not mandatory.

Compensation for this role is competitive, with an hourly wage ranging from $45 to $48 based on experience. The benefits package is comprehensive, including health insurance, paid time off, and paid holidays, which underscores the employer's commitment to employee well-being and job satisfaction.

In terms of responsibilities, the Housekeeper will be fully charged with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of this fine home. Tasks include hands-on daily cleaning as well as deep cleaning duties, ensuring every room and surface meets the highest standards of tidiness and comfort. Laundry management is a significant part of the job, requiring competence in stain treatment, ironing, folding, and organizing wardrobes. Seasonal organizational projects are also part of the role, which may involve decluttering, wardrobe rotation, and preparation of spaces for holidays or special occasions.

This household includes one well-trained dog, so the Housekeeper should be comfortable working in a pet-friendly environment. While pet care is not a stated duty, familiarity with pets and maintaining cleanliness in a pet-occupied home is advantageous.

This position suits candidates with prior experience in private households or luxury homes, who pride themselves on discretion, reliability, and the ability to work independently while being an effective team player. Strong communication skills are necessary to interact harmoniously with the House Manager, the other Housekeeper, and the principals.

Overall, this role offers an enriching environment for a professional Housekeeper looking to contribute their skills to a distinguished household in a sought-after Chicago neighborhood. With a supportive team, competitive pay, and valuable benefits, this position provides both stability and the opportunity for professional growth within the private service industry.
