Job Description

Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago/Waukegan is a part of the esteemed MCR family, which stands as the third-largest hotel owner-operator in the United States. Established in 2006, MCR has expanded its footprint with a $5.0 billion portfolio comprising 148 premium-branded hotels featuring over 22,000 guestrooms across 37 states and 106 cities. With dedicated offices in New York City, Dallas, Chicago, and Richmond, Virginia, MCR is a powerhouse in the hospitality industry, operating hotels under nine Marriott brands, eight Hilton brands, and a select number of independent unflagged hotels.

The Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago/Waukegan epitomizes the core values of MCR with a strong commitment to cleanliness, friendliness, and providing a well-organized, safe environment for guests. This role operates under MCR’s Universal Role Standards, focusing on cleanliness and friendliness as the foundation of exceptional guest experiences. The property emphasizes teamwork, product consistency, quality, and guest satisfaction as pillars of operational excellence.

The Housekeeper role at Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago/Waukegan is integral to maintaining the high standards expected of the brand. The primary responsibility includes cleaning and preparing guest rooms, hallways, and public areas to ensure a spotless environment that aligns with MCR’s core standards. Housekeepers play an essential role in guest relations by greeting guests warmly, using names when possible, and supporting guest satisfaction efforts by assisting with any issues promptly and courteously.

Housekeepers are expected to complete pre-cleaning duties such as stocking room supplies and attending daily briefings. They meticulously clean and restock guest rooms according to shift assignments and take on any additional cleaning tasks as directed by supervisors. Their duties also extend to maintaining cleanliness in storage rooms, public spaces, and guest laundry areas, contributing to an organized and safe hotel environment.

This position is essential in supporting the operational checklists to 100% accuracy and timely shift handover reports for seamless shift transitions. Housekeepers are also required to maintain a flawless uniform and professional appearance, embodying MCR’s brand promise and creating a positive impression on guests.

Teamwork is a cornerstone of this role, with clear, honest communication and a can-do attitude expected from all team members. Housekeepers must be willing to stretch beyond their traditional duties to meet the needs of both the hotel and its guests.

The physical demands of the role include stooping, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, standing for extended periods, walking long distances within the hotel, repetitive motions of the wrists and hands, and lifting housekeeping items such as linens and vacuums. This dynamic environment requires individuals who can thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting.

MCR celebrates innovation and excellence, having been recognized as one of Fast Company’s 10 Most Innovative Travel Companies of 2020 and honored with multiple prestigious awards, including the Marriott Partnership Circle Award and the Hilton Legacy Award for Top Performer. Prospective employees joining Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago/Waukegan become part of a forward-thinking, growth-oriented company that values both its guests and team members.

Employment with Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago/Waukegan offers competitive weekly pay, hotel discounts, paid time off, retirement options, referral bonuses, and opportunities for career advancement and upward mobility. For full-time employees, health, dental, and vision insurance are available after 30 days of employment, reinforcing the commitment to employee well-being and satisfaction.

Overall, the Housekeeper role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a top-tier hospitality experience within an industry-leading company. It’s ideal for individuals who thrive in a guest-service environment, possess a positive attitude, and are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and customer care.
