Job Description

Dignity Health Woodland Memorial Hospital is a well-established healthcare provider located in Yolo County, serving the community since 1905. As the largest healthcare provider in the area, Woodland Memorial Hospital operates as a 108-bed acute care facility offering an extensive range of medical services. These services include inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures, a family birth center with labor and delivery, emergency services, home health care, palliative care, inpatient mental health services, a sleep disorders center, and cancer care services. The hospital's long-standing presence in the community underscores its commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality healthcare close to home. As part of the larger Dignity Health network, which spans 22 states, Woodland Memorial Hospital benefits from the resources and support of one of the nation’s largest healthcare systems.

The role of Housekeeper at Woodland Memorial Hospital is vital to maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned areas of the hospital to ensure they meet rigorous sanitation standards. Your duties will include cleaning and sanitizing patient, guest, and staff areas, disinfecting restrooms, and cleaning floors according to scheduled requirements. In addition to general cleaning, the position requires proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials such as bodily fluids and sharp objects, emphasizing the importance of safety and infection control in a healthcare setting.

You will also be expected to apply specialized cleaning methods to designated rooms and equipment, replenish essential supplies like soap, paper towels, and tissues, and deliver clean linens to patient rooms. Success in this role depends heavily on attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow strict safety protocols and departmental guidelines. Flexibility to take on additional tasks and the proactive reporting of maintenance concerns are also critical components of the job, as is the ability to respond effectively during emergencies.

This position is classified as seasonal, casual, on-call, or supplemental, allowing for flexibility in employment arrangements. The Hospital values individuals who are committed to supporting a safe and healthy environment and who embrace the organization's mission of compassionate, patient-focused care. Joining the team at Woodland Memorial Hospital means becoming part of a community dedicated to excellent healthcare delivery backed by the strength of the Dignity Health network.
