Urban Recovery is a leading substance use disorder treatment center located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY. As Urban Recovery expands, they are seeking a full-time Housekeeper to bolster their frontline team. This role is integral to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors alike. The Housekeeper will ensure all housekeeping supplies are well-organized and that the housekeeping cart is stocked and maintained properly. Responsibilities extend to detailed cleaning tasks such as wiping ceiling vents, dusting, vacuuming edges, and cleaning baseboards to maintain impeccable hygiene standards throughout the facility. The role also requires performing light extraction carpet cleaning and scrubbing of safety flooring using automated equipment, which necessitates care and attention to detail.

The Housekeeper must be well-informed and compliant with proper disinfection practices and infection control standards that are critical in a healthcare setting to minimize infection risks. An important aspect of the position is maintaining equipment, checking for any wear or damage, and managing the tracking and return of client clothing and belongings. This role demands reliability, thoroughness, and a proactive approach to upholding the facility’s cleanliness standards. Urban Recovery seeks candidates who have experience in healthcare or related environments and are comfortable handling chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, and the necessary protective gear. Job Duties

  • Keep paper and chemical supplies stored in work rooms neat and organized
  • Keep housekeeping cart clean and stocked
  • Complete detail cleaning such as wiping ceiling vents, high/low dusting, wiping furniture, edge vacuuming and baseboard cleaning
  • Perform basic equipment care, checks for wear and damage on assigned equipment
  • Keep track of client clothing belongings for return
  • Stay current and knowledgeable on proper disinfection practices and infection control requirements, standards, and techniques for infection reduction
  • Perform light extraction carpet cleaning and scrubbing of safety flooring using automated equipment
