The organization values collaboration, creativity, innovation, and inclusion, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives and backgrounds thrive to improve healthcare outcomes for all individuals. Duke Health is dedicated to creating a welcoming and secure community where every voice is heard and respected, promoting holistic health and wellbeing.

Duke Raleigh Hospital, a campus of Duke University Hospital located in Raleigh, North Carolina, is an essential part of this network. As the third largest of the four Duke Health hospitals, Duke Raleigh Hospital offers 204 beds and a wide array of services spanning cancer care, cardiovascular health, neuroscience, advanced gastrointestinal treatment, and wound healing. This medical facility is committed to delivering high-quality patient care with state-of-the-art resources and a skilled healthcare team.

This particular role focuses on housekeeping within the Duke Raleigh Campus. The position is designed for individuals passionate about maintaining cleanliness and hygiene to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff. It involves routine manual housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient rooms, offices, floors, furniture, and equipment throughout the facility. Housekeeping personnel at Duke Raleigh Hospital are responsible for a variety of cleaning duties including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming floors, dusting surfaces, emptying trash, and sanitizing bathroom fixtures. The role also demands the ability to perform specialized cleaning tasks such as 'Seven Step' surgical area cleaning, machine scrubbing, and buffing floors, requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. Employees in this position must use personal protective equipment when necessary and diligently follow universal precautions to prevent the spread of infections within patient care areas.

The role offers flexible working hours across first, second, and third shifts, accommodating different schedules and preferences. Although formal education or experience is not mandatory, a basic understanding of housekeeping practices, the ability to read and follow instructions, and the capacity to work effectively with others are essential qualities. Individuals who join Duke Raleigh Hospital in this capacity contribute meaningfully to the hospital's mission by fostering a clean, orderly, and hygienic healthcare environment that directly supports patient recovery and wellbeing.
