The compensation for the Housekeeper/Janitor position is $17.00 per hour, reflecting the company’s dedication to fair and equitable wages for skilled workers. The role primarily involves advanced cleaning and maintenance tasks requiring specialized training and demonstrated proficiency. Housekeepers/Janitors are responsible for inspecting work performed within assigned buildings or properties, maintaining the cleanliness and safety of both indoor and outdoor areas. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to OSHA safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently either solo or as part of a team. Duties include handling various cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, window cleaning, and restroom maintenance. Employees in this role are also tasked with maintaining cleaning supplies levels, using cleaning equipment safely, and following security procedures at all times. The position operates under a structured schedule with shifts on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, providing predictable hours and time off midweek. Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs following appropriate safety procedures
  • Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time
  • Crawl in small and tight spaces
  • Ability to work in different environmental working conditions such as heat, cold, wind and rain
  • Walk and climb stairs
  • Handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner
  • Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level maximum 3 ft

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • Previous custodial experience preferred
  • Multiple language fluency is desirable
  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs following appropriate safety procedures
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions such as heat, cold, wind and rain
  • Ability to navigate property and building quickly and easily
  • Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner

Job Duties

  • Performs a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned including sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, replacing light bulbs and window cleaning
  • Informs Supervisor of needed supplies
  • Maintains all cleaning solutions in accordance to OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals
  • Removes trash from premises and assists in emergency cleaning
  • Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment
  • Maintains friendly and professional attitude
  • Responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas
  • Inspects all assigned areas daily and reports all cleaning and maintenance discrepancies to Supervisor
  • Ensures that security procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work
  • Completes daily work orders as scheduled
  • Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition
  • Cleans restrooms including sweeping and mopping floors, refilling dispensers such as hand towels, toilet paper and hand soap, cleaning toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors and counters, empties/removes trash, reports any discrepancies or deficiencies to supervisor
