Job Description
The hiring establishment is a care-focused assisted living facility that prioritizes maintaining a clean, safe, and home-like environment for its residents. This facility stands out in its commitment to supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and comfort among its residents. As a reputable organization within the assisted living sector, it operates under the guidance of an Executive Director or designated personnel who oversee operations and ensure that all residents receive high-quality service in a supportive atmosphere. The company culture supports collaboration, respect, and a professional approach to elder care services, which is evident in its adherence to infection control procedures, safety protocols, and resident-centered communication.
This role is for a Housekeeping and Laundry Attendant who will be responsible for ensuring the completion of all housekeeping and laundry tasks. The attendant will assume accountability for the general cleanliness of the building and monitor janitorial and maintenance work as needed or requested by the management team. Key duties include maintaining an inventory of chemicals, supplies, and equipment necessary for tasks; communicating supply needs to the Executive Director or designee; and keeping accurate records, including the proper use of maintenance request logs. Familiarity with cleaning schedules of residents' apartments and communal areas plays a critical role in ensuring all housekeeping tasks are completed with precision and care.
Additionally, the position involves performing janitorial tasks, minor repairs, and providing laundry services as directed. The attendant must demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to infection control procedures, observe and communicate any concerns related to resident units or the community, and follow all safety, administrative, and emergency procedures. Emphasis is placed on respecting and upholding the privacy and dignity of residents while ensuring that the facility’s environment remains safe, clean, and welcoming.
This position requires an individual willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary. The ability to perform occasional heavy lifting and spend long periods standing and moving throughout the facility is essential. Candidates must maintain a neat, professional appearance and attitude, and be capable of effective communication in English both verbally and in writing. Current CPR/First Aid certification is required, alongside a willingness to learn new skills, collaborate effectively with coworkers, and adhere strictly to all policies and procedures. Experience in a licensed care setting and knowledge of housekeeping and laundry chemicals and equipment are preferred, highlighting the importance of maintaining high standards in such a vital support role within an assisted living environment.
In summary, this role offers an opportunity to join a compassionate and professional team dedicated to enhancing the living experience of assisted living residents. By performing housekeeping and laundry duties diligently and cooperatively, the Housekeeping and Laundry Attendant directly contributes to the facility’s mission of providing a respectful, safe, and homelike atmosphere that fosters the well-being and comfort of its residents.
