Job Description
Bronson HealthcareGroup is a respected healthcare organization renowned for its commitment to compassionate patient care, clinical excellence, and community service. Operating multiple hospitals and health facilities in Michigan, including Bronson Methodist Hospital, Bronson Battle Creek, Bronson Lakeview Hospital, and Bronson South Haven Hospital, Bronson Healthcare Group prides itself on creating a supportive and positive work environment. Team Bronson is described as compassionate, resilient, and strong with a culture driven by positivity, inspiring its employees to be their best and to go above and beyond for patients, one another, and the local community. This healthcare group offers rewarding career opportunities for motivated individuals ready to contribute to meaningful, patient-centered care.
The House Manager (RN BSN) role at Bronson Methodist Hospital is a vital position providing both administrative and clinical leadership throughout the hospital. The House Manager supports hospital operations and patient care services by leading unit staff and ancillary departments, often acting independently and making critical decisions in situations requiring immediate response. This includes managing crises, resolving conflicts, and coordinating hospital-wide activities to maintain optimum patient care and operational flow. Licensed Registered Nurses with a BSN are required for this role, with specific requirements such as BCLS certification upon hire and advanced life support certifications within six months. Additional training in hospital incident command and stroke certification is required depending on the hospital location.
This part-time, variable shift role with approximately 10 scheduled hours per week is well-suited for nursing professionals who thrive in dynamic clinical environments and are skilled in leadership, communication, and problem-solving. The House Manager plays pivotal roles such as crisis management, coordinating patient placement, overseeing hospital capacity, facilitating communication with internal teams and external organizations including law enforcement and media, and ensuring safety and compliance throughout the facility. This position often requires working under mentally and physically demanding conditions, involving frequent standing, walking, and assisting patients, reflecting the hands-on nature of the role.
For specific locations such as Bronson South Haven Hospital, nurses must have a BSN as a minimum qualification upon hire, while Bronson Battle Creek House Managers have responsibilities including stroke team participation and TPA dosing. Across facilities, the House Manager integrates disaster planning knowledge and collaborates with various teams to support efficient hospital functioning. The role is a blend of clinical expertise, operational leadership, and strategic coordination within a respected healthcare setting committed to employee growth and patient welfare. Candidates will join a dedicated team where every action impacts patient care and community health.
