The role of House Attendant at Ascent Hospitality is essential in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction across the hotel’s public and guest-floor areas. This position requires individuals who are detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive in ensuring all designated spaces meet the company’s hygiene and aesthetic standards. House Attendants support the smooth operation of guest services by caring for floors, lobbies, corridors, stairways, elevators, and public restrooms, as well as assisting Room Attendants and the Laundry Department when necessary. They may also be tasked with maintaining cleanliness in fitness centers, meeting rooms, and potentially pool areas.
Working under the supervision of the Director/Manager of Housekeeping, Operations Managers, or General Manager, this role demands physical stamina, excellent organizational skills, and a hospitable demeanor. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous housekeeping or related experience preferred
- strong communication skills to interact with guests and team members
- physical ability to lift and move weights up to 50 pounds and push carts up to 200 pounds
- ability to work flexible hours and holidays
- ability to work under physical and mental stress
- compliance with safety standards handling cleaning chemicals
Job Qualifications
- high school education or equivalent preferred
- four to six months of housekeeping experience or training preferred but not required
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to understand read write and speak basic English
- ability to work effectively as part of a team
- ability to apply common sense to carry out simple instructions
- ability to work flexible shifts including holidays
Job Duties
- clean hallways lobbies corridors elevators and stairways using vacuums brooms mops and powered machines
- sweep scrub wax and polish floors using appropriate tools
- clean rugs carpets upholstered furniture and draperies with vacuum cleaners
- dust furniture and equipment
- polish metal fixtures and fittings
- wash walls ceilings woodwork windows door panels and sills
- maintain cleanliness of public areas including restrooms
- empty wastebaskets and ashtrays and transport trash to disposal areas
- stock room attendant carts with linen and supplies
- strip dirty linen and transport to laundry room
- retrieve and stock clean linens on floors
- fold towels sheets and linens as needed
- maintain organized and clean storage areas
- assist room attendants with heavy lifting and moving furniture
- assist laundry and pool maintenance as needed
- greet guests pleasantly and provide local information when appropriate
- respond timely to housekeeping supply requests
