This role is for a Cashier at Towne Park, responsible for accurately collecting and reconciling revenue while ensuring outstanding hospitality service to guests. The position involves interacting with customers in a friendly, professional, and attentive manner, utilizing Towne’s technology platform and processes to offer a smooth transaction experience. The Cashier position offers a competitive hourly pay of $14 and includes shifts in the morning (AM) and evening (PM) with open availability required. Employees may also have access to benefits like accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, telemedicine services, and a company 401k plan, subject to eligibility criteria such as employment classification and hours worked.

Key responsibilities include maintaining customer service excellence by greeting and acknowledging guests promptly, providing accurate information regarding facilities and local attractions, handling payments through cash, credit, or billing, and ensuring accurate ticket categorization for audits. The Cashier is also tasked with completing shift reports and adhering strictly to operational procedures involving cash handling and equipment use such as registers and credit card machines.

The role demands strong communication skills, basic math capability including handling money and understanding rate calculations, and proficiency with the 24-hour and military time formats. Physical demands include the ability to stand or sit for extended periods, lift moderately heavy objects up to 50 pounds occasionally, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. This position also requires the ability to operate within established protocols with decisions guided by operational instructions and a focus on maintaining smooth departmental operations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three month(s) related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read and write standard English
  • Ability to understand simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with money and time calculations
  • Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings
  • Ability to work under pressure maintaining accuracy and composure
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Open availability for AM and PM shifts
  • Willingness to comply with Towne Park policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
  • Ability to perform operations using units of American money
  • Ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
  • Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed

Job Duties

  • Maintain pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers and clients
  • Acknowledge and greet guests immediately while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Address guests using last names when appropriate

  • Assist guests with directions and all other inquiries
  • Provide guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms and/or amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area
  • Determine guest charges and process payments via cash, credit, or direct billing
  • Accurately categorize tickets for audit purposes
  • Collect and reconcile revenue accurately and furnish payment receipts
  • Complete accurate and timely shift reports
  • Follow all standard operating procedures related to cash banks
  • Operate equipment, including registers, gates, and credit card machines
  • Obtain information about daily events and rates to be charged
  • Complete all tasks in a timely manner as instructed by the Lead Cashier/Account Manager
