The Residence Inn West Springfield, located at 64 Border Way, West Springfield, MA, is currently seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the revenue growth of a well-established hotel property within the Highgate portfolio. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing comprehensive knowledge of the hotel's operations, including food and beverage, guest services, and reservations. They will actively engage in prospecting and closing new business opportunities, building strong relationships with clients and accounts in their market segment. The individual must be adept at managing sales within budgetary constraints, participating in daily hotel business reviews, and executing strategic sales initiatives designed to enhance hotel occupancy and average daily rate (ADR).
The Sales Manager must be skilled in managing various sales activities such as conducting site inspections, client entertainment, and executing special promotional campaigns. The role also involves regular monitoring of account production and market trends, maintaining an active sales solicitation program, and ensuring adherence to company sales policies and procedures. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for networking within the community and professional associations to boost business opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of professionalism and customer service, represent the hotel positively, and contribute to maintaining strong client relationships. Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- four years of experience in a hotel or related field preferred

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Attend daily Highgate Hotel Business Review meeting
- develop a full working knowledge of hotel operations including food and beverage, guest services, and reservations
- develop and enforce company sales policies and SOPs among the sales team
- meet or exceed sales goals
- operate within established sales expense budget
- participate in required Manager On Duty and Saturday office coverage
- initiate and follow up on leads
- maintain an active sales solicitation program
- monitor account production and evaluate market trends
- regularly contact existing accounts as per Account Coverage Program
- achieve assigned sales solicitation call goals
- invite clients for entertainment, lunches, tours, and site inspections
- assist in implementing special sales promotions
- prepare required sales reports timely
- conduct professional site inspections with clients
- use computerized sales management systems for business management
- meet and greet onsite contacts
- adhere to Prime Selling Time
- develop networking opportunities through community and professional associations
- review meeting planner evaluations and ensure appropriate follow-up
- entertain clients
- handle inquiries during Inquiry Day program
