We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Hotel Operations Manager to lead the operations within our Laguna Beach market. This full-time role is a pivotal on-site leadership position encompassing responsibility for guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, safety, and hotel programming. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations ensuring smooth and efficient functionality while maintaining AvantStay’s high standards of hospitality. As the local leader, the Operations Manager will supervise various teams including Guest Experience Agents, Housekeeping Inspectors, Housekeepers, Housepersons, Maintenance Technicians, and Safety Officers.
The role requires a proactive approach in managing guest satisfaction by promptly addressing complaints and enhancing the overall guest experience through attentive front desk operations and engaging hotel programming such as live music events, yoga classes, and art exhibits. The Manager will implement effective labor management practices including scheduling and payroll to optimize productivity while ensuring operational readiness through daily inspections and managing case workflows. They will also take charge of maintaining cleanliness and the efficiency of room turnovers, oversee the Preventative Maintenance Program, and collaborate closely with vendors to manage supplies and equipment inventory.
Safety and security are paramount, and the Manager must work alongside the Safety Officer to enforce compliance with safety protocols and maintain a secure environment for both guests and staff. The position calls for an individual with strong organizational skills, the ability to lead multiple teams, and a passion for delivering impeccable hospitality. This role offers a competitive annual salary between $70,000 and $75,000 coupled with performance bonuses based on skills and experience. - Min. 3 years experience in hotel operations, property management, or a similar leadership role
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple teams and foster a collaborative work environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible schedule with availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by business needs
- Familiarity with hospitality management systems is a plus

Job Duties

- Schedule and lead team meetings to align on priorities and resolve operational challenges
- Train and mentor staff to ensure excellence in service delivery
- Manage guest complaints, ensuring timely resolution and guest satisfaction
- Oversee front desk operations and ensure guest experience agents provide accurate information, local recommendations, and concierge-level service
- Collaborate with teams to curate engaging hotel programming such as live music, yoga classes, and art exhibits
- Manage labor, including weekly scheduling and payroll, to optimize productivity and coverage
