The resort prides itself on delivering exceptional guest experiences through top-notch services and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hospitality. Emphasizing cultural heritage, community engagement, and guest satisfaction, the property continuously invests in its facilities and workforce to foster an environment that is both inviting and professional. Known for its commitment to quality and excellence, Grand Casino Hotel and Resort provides numerous opportunities for career growth within a dynamic, supportive workplace.
The Houseman position at Grand Casino Hotel and Resort plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the resort's public and back-of-house areas. Responsible for cleaning and maintaining spaces such as the lobby, workout room, spa, bathrooms, stairwells, corridors, vending areas, elevators, and guest floor service areas, the Houseman supports the overall guest experience by ensuring that all these areas meet the highest standards of sanitation and organization. Additionally, the role involves supporting room attendants by stripping rooms, stocking linen supplies, and retrieving necessary items to facilitate efficient room cleaning. The position requires interaction with guests, front desk personnel, and housekeeping supervisors by delivering and retrieving items promptly and responding to management requests.
This full-time employment opportunity offers a competitive pay rate between $14.00 and $18.00 per hour. In addition to the hourly salary, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance. Employee contributions towards these benefits are deducted biweekly, with rates varying according to coverage type—ranging from $40.00 for employee-only coverage to $140.00 for full family coverage. The resort fosters a culture of teamwork and continuous training, encouraging Housemen to engage actively in learning programs that enhance their cleaning skills and compliance with established procedures.
The Houseman position requires the incumbent to have general knowledge of microbial growth prevention, infection control, safety decals on chemicals, and proper handling of cleaning products to avoid adverse reactions. They work under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor and are expected to carry out daily assignments independently while adhering to established policies and procedures. This role also requires the employee to monitor and report maintenance needs, evaluate cleaning products, maintain inventory, and implement safety practices vigilantly.
Physical stamina is essential, as the job involves strenuous activities like climbing, lifting up to 70 pounds, bending, and reaching frequently. The work environment is primarily climate-controlled within the hotel and casino premises, demanding frequent attention to detail and a commitment to preserving the resort's aesthetic and sanitary standards. Housemen play an integral role in ensuring that the resort not only meets but exceeds guest expectations through meticulous cleanliness and effective support of the housekeeping team, contributing directly to the resort's positive reputation and profitability.
