Job Description

The Residence Inn by Marriott Pleasanton is a distinguished all-suite hotel situated conveniently near the intersections of I-580 and I-680, right next to the bustling Stoneridge Mall. This extended stay property offers guests a comfortable "home away from home" experience, featuring 135 well-appointed suites spread over three floors and three versatile meeting rooms. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an hourly position with a pay rate ranging from $30 to $33 per hour, depending on experience, and is eligible for overtime. As the Housekeeping Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining the impeccable standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel, including guest suites, public areas, and laundry facilities. You will be responsible for supervising and leading a team of housekeeping associates, ensuring that all duties are completed on schedule and to the highest quality. The ideal candidate will have previous management experience in a hotel housekeeping department, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.

This role demands flexibility as it involves working morning shifts, weekends, and holidays to ensure the hotel's housekeeping operations run smoothly at all times. In addition to daily operational oversight, you will be instrumental in training staff, managing schedules, and maintaining strong morale within the team. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or over
  • Flexible schedule including availability for morning shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Willing and able to perform all housekeeping duties
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment
  • Relevant military experience preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping manager experience in a full service or limited service hotel or similar job experience preferred
  • Previous housekeeping supervisor experience of 1-2 years required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluency in Spanish both spoken and written highly preferred
  • Relevant military experience in a comparable capacity

Job Duties

  • Manage daily operations of the housekeeping department including guest suites, public spaces and laundry areas
  • Supervise and lead housekeeping associates ensuring completion of all duties
  • Develop and maintain staff schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Train new housekeeping staff and provide ongoing coaching
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards
  • Monitor inventory and order housekeeping supplies as needed
  • Communicate effectively with other hotel departments and management
