The Sales Manager role at Hilton Santa Clara is a vital position responsible for driving group and catering business through effective sales strategies, client relationship management, and seamless event coordination. This full-time position offers an annual salary ranging from $75,000 to $80,000 based on experience, with additional bonus potential. The Sales Manager will primarily work on-site Monday through Friday, with occasional nights and weekends required to support banquet functions and local events.

In this role, the Sales Manager will serve as the key liaison between potential clients and various hotel departments to ensure the smooth execution of conventions, meetings, and special events. The position requires strong prospecting skills to identify new business opportunities and maintain a dynamic and positive relationship with meeting planners from the initial sales phase through the onsite event execution. The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing client inquiries, preparing proposals, conducting site inspections, and coordinating closely with departments such as front office, catering, and reservations. Detailed knowledge of sales management software such as Delphi is essential to track leads, maintain account information, and produce sales forecasts and reports.

The Sales Manager is expected to adopt a proactive and assertive sales approach, demonstrating a fast-paced drive for results while maintaining high levels of professionalism and customer satisfaction. Strong time management skills and attention to detail are critical, as the role involves coordinating event logistics, creating banquet event orders, and ensuring internal communications are timely and accurate. The successful candidate will contribute directly to the hotel’s profitability by maximizing group and catering bookings and providing exceptional service to meeting planners and clients. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1+ year of hotel sales/service experience
  • Experience at a similar size and quality hotel preferred
  • Previous Hilton experience preferred
  • Must be willing to work some weekends/holidays depending on business demands
  • Must have computer experience in Microsoft Word and Excel in Windows
  • Prior experience with the Delphi software preferred

Job Duties

  • Create a dynamic and positive relationships with meeting planners from sales phase through on-site execution of event
  • Actively prospect and qualify new business
  • Handle inquiry calls and provide client proposals in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures
  • Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients
  • Maintain accurate information in sales management tool (Delphi) on all new and ongoing leads, account information including solicitation efforts as well as all activities to ensure all are complete and documented
  • Produce weekly/monthly sales-related reports and sales forecasts for assigned area of responsibility
  • Produce and review sales contracts, banquet/catering event orders
