Manga Hotel Group is a distinguished private company specializing in the acquisition, development, and management of independent hotels, premium residences, and hotels affiliated with some of the most prestigious global brands, including Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, and Intercontinental Hotels Group. With a robust portfolio of 35 hotels that feature over 6,600 rooms spanning across Canada and the United States, Manga Hotels also boasts 18 food and beverage outlets and 7 luxury residential properties. The group has numerous new properties and developments currently underway, reflecting its ongoing commitment to expansion and quality in the hospitality industry. Manga Hotel Group has built a reputation founded on superior service and sustained growth. Its ethos embraces the philosophy that excellence goes beyond simply meeting guest expectations — it involves going the extra mile to exceed those expectations consistently. This commitment to unparalleled guest satisfaction is the cornerstone of the company’s success. The company’s expertise extends past physical structures, focusing primarily on delivering exceptional guest experiences, fostering strong team dynamics, and supporting continuous organizational growth. This culture of excellence has made Manga Hotels a leader in the hospitality sector and an employer of choice for those passionate about hospitality and service excellence.
The role of Hotel General Manager at Manga Hotels is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the 158-room Chelsean New York Hotel. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic, experienced, and high-energy professional who thrives on managing daily hotel operations and driving profitability while maintaining excellent guest satisfaction. This full-time position requires strategic and operational expertise to lead the hotel through all facets of its business — from financial performance, guest services, and team leadership to property maintenance and compliance with brand standards. The Hotel General Manager is charged with directing the hotel leadership team, implementing effective hotel-wide strategies, and establishing a culture of teamwork that fosters continuous improvement and delivers outstanding results.
Key responsibilities include maximizing profits through strategic management of the hotel’s operations, understanding and leveraging profit and loss (P&L) statements to influence decision-making, and ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with quality standards. The Hotel General Manager will regularly engage with guests to gather feedback and ensure service excellence, while also analyzing service-related issues to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance guest satisfaction. Additionally, the role involves supporting sales strategies, revenue management, and budgeting processes to meet and exceed financial targets. Daily property inspections to monitor cleanliness, safety, security, and quality control are also essential aspects of the role to maintain the highest standards of hospitality. This position demands a leader who is visible, approachable, and committed to fostering a positive environment where both guests and staff feel valued. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience managing hotels with more than 150 rooms, demonstrating their capability to lead large teams and complex operations effectively.
The Hotel General Manager role at Manga Hotels offers a challenging yet rewarding career path within a prestigious and rapidly expanding hotel group. This position is based at 160 W 25th St., New York, NY, and requires the candidate to be available for a Monday to Friday schedule with some weekend availability. Manga Hotels is dedicated to investing in its employees and providing competitive benefits such as dental and vision insurance to ensure employee well-being.
