This approach ensures that guests feel genuinely welcomed and supported at every interaction, creating memorable experiences that foster loyalty and satisfaction. Arbor Lodging prides itself on a culture that is people-focused, data-driven, and results-oriented, striving to blend exceptional hospitality with strong operational performance throughout its managed properties.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced General Manager to lead the operations at Arbor's Courtyard in West Des Moines Jordan Creek. This role is vital in maintaining the standards of excellence associated with the Arbor Lodging brand and providing matchless guest service. The General Manager is responsible for all facets of daily hotel operations including managing staff, enhancing guest experiences, and ensuring profitability. They will act as a brand ambassador and a strategic leader, offering direction across departments such as front office, housekeeping, sales, human resources, food and beverage, maintenance, and accounting. They will cultivate an environment of open communication, professionalism, and continuous improvement among all team members.
The General Manager is entrusted with maintaining high guest satisfaction through hands-on leadership and attention to detail. Key to this role is the management of financials, including P&L oversight and payroll control to uphold profitability targets. Compliance with local and state regulations for licensing and permits, as well as maintaining safety and security systems, are integral responsibilities. Additionally, the General Manager is expected to foster staff training and development initiatives that enhance service quality and encourage guest loyalty.
Forward-thinking and proactive, the General Manager anticipates potential operational issues and intervenes to prevent disruptions to hotel functions. They analyze diverse data sources for informed decision-making and effective problem resolution. Handling guest and staff concerns with professionalism and care is essential in maintaining the hotel’s esteemed reputation. The ability to delegate effectively ensures tasks are assigned to the most qualified individuals, promoting efficiency and excellence. This is a dynamic role where duties may evolve with the changing demands of the business, and adaptability is key.
This role aligns with Arbor Lodging's guiding principles: doing the right thing with integrity, leading with kindness and passion, being accountable for results, aiming higher to exceed expectations, and celebrating diversity through respect for individual opinions and ideas. We offer a competitive salary and a supportive work environment where growth and development are prioritized. If you are a seasoned hospitality professional with a passion for leadership and operational excellence, this opportunity to join Arbor Lodging and make a significant impact is ideal.
