Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to quality, service excellence, and providing memorable experiences to guests. Within Marriott’s portfolio, Gaylord Hotels stands out by delivering exceptional meeting and event experiences through innovative environments and dedicated service teams. Gaylord Hotels offers expansive properties where guests can enjoy a wide variety of amenities and services, all aimed at creating a memorable stay. As part of Marriott International, employees at Gaylord benefit from a culture that values diversity, promotes career growth, and encourages a sense of purpose and belonging across a global network. Marriott International operates with an inclusive approach towards hiring, emphasizing equality and valuing the unique contributions of every associate. It also maintains compliance with laws protecting applicants and employees, including those related to criminal history, disabilities, and veteran status.
The Property Administrative Specialist at Gaylord Hotels embodies a pivotal role that bridges various departments within the hotel, such as Guest Services, Engineering, and Food & Beverage. This full-time position, located in Chula Vista, CA, offers a competitive hourly wage of $27.75 and is not eligible for bonuses or stock packages. The role is foundational in ensuring smooth administrative operations that enhance the overall guest experience and contribute to the hotel’s operational efficiency.
In this role, the Property Administrative Specialist supports multiple departments by facilitating administrative tasks such as document preparation using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. They serve as the crucial point of contact for clients and vendors, maintaining communication and ensuring seamless coordination throughout event processes — from pre-event planning, through the event, and post-event follow-up. This position demands strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
The Property Administrative Specialist is also tasked with upholding Marriott's high standards for safety, professionalism, and quality. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe workplace, complying with company policies, and representing the hotel with professional appearance and communication. Collaboration and teamwork are fundamental, as this role requires building positive relationships with colleagues and supporting common goals across departments. The specialist is also expected to be adaptable and perform a range of physical activities, such as moving light objects and maintaining mobility during long periods of standing or walking.
Working at Marriott International and specifically at Gaylord Hotels offers opportunities beyond traditional hotel roles. Associates are encouraged to grow their careers, develop new skills, and engage with diverse cultures and backgrounds, making it a dynamic and rewarding work environment. The company’s commitment to non-discrimination and inclusion further supports a healthy and supportive workplace culture. If you are driven, service-oriented, and eager to contribute to a global leader in hospitality, the Property Administrative Specialist role at Gaylord Hotels is a promising career opportunity.
