Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical school degree
  • Minimum of 2 years managerial experience in engineering
  • Prior hospitality industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards applicable to hotel settings and chemical storage
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or related technical school degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience at a managerial level
  • Prior hospitality experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements as they relate to hotel operations and chemical storage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Proven ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Oversee ongoing repair and maintenance of the hotel and food and beverage facilities including building structure, mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs
  • Maintain effective energy management and continuously seek energy-efficient solutions and innovative projects
  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate engineering staff engaged in maintenance and repair activities
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings and performance evaluations and ensure ongoing development and communication within the engineering team
  • Oversee departmental budget including forecasting, budgeting, capital planning, and proposals under the direction of the Director of Engineering and Hotel General Manager
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and building codes
  • Lead the hotel’s Fire Safety and Emergency Evacuation Teams
