Known for its commitment to quality and excellence, the venue offers its employees a collaborative and dynamic work environment. This position is full-time and based onsite, reflecting the company's commitment to hands-on and immediate response to maintaining the facility. The pay range for this role is competitive, offering between $39.79 and $41.57 per hour, providing a great opportunity for skilled individuals interested in engineering and facilities maintenance within the hospitality sector.
The role is a non-management position focused on engineering and facilities maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to guest repair requests, ensuring swift resolution with minimal supervision. A core part of the job involves performing preventive maintenance on a variety of tools and equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection. This position demands a versatile skill set across multiple engineering disciplines such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry. Additionally, candidates should have familiarity with kitchen equipment and energy conservation strategies, reflecting the diverse needs of the facility. A key aspect of the job is maintaining an inventory of maintenance supplies and ensuring all communication is accurately relayed between shifts, guaranteeing seamless operational continuity.
The engineer will also be proficient in troubleshooting and repairing various hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including pump and motor replacement, electrical fixture repairs, and plumbing tasks like plunging toilets and unclogging drains. The role includes programming televisions, minor surface repairs, and diligent housekeeping within the engineering domain. Safety is paramount, with responsibilities including adherence to Lockout/Tagout procedures and proper handling of flammable materials. The engineer will have opportunities to train and mentor junior staff and may undertake Engineer on Duty responsibilities, which encompass performing readings and rounds. This position requires interpersonal skills to address guest service needs professionally, and it emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and maintaining a professional appearance. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds, use ladders, and perform tasks requiring bending and stooping.
Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with vocational or technical training and at least two years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience. A valid driver's license and Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification are mandatory, along with compliance with all state and federal licensing or certification requirements. The company values candidates with experience in surface preparation, painting, and general maintenance, but supervisory experience is not required for this role. Overall, this role is ideal for someone with a versatile mechanical skillset wanting to contribute to a vibrant hotel environment focused on guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
