Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • vocational or technical background
  • minimum 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
  • no supervisory experience required
  • valid Driver's License
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
  • must meet applicable state and federal certification and licensing requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • vocational or technical background
  • at least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
  • experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting
  • valid Driver's License
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
  • ability to train and mentor other engineers
  • familiarity with engineering computer programs related to preventive maintenance and energy management

Job Duties

  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests
  • communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision
  • perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment including cleaning and lubrication
  • visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
  • display proficiency in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management
  • troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical devices, and guestroom items
  • perform surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair
  • use Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work
  • operate engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance and energy management
  • perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel MEP systems
  • train and mentor other engineers
  • perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities including readings and rounds
  • follow company safety and security policies
  • ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • maintain confidentiality and protect company assets
  • welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • move, lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • perform other reasonable job duties as requested
