This role is a full-time, non-management engineering position that plays a crucial part in maintaining the high standards of the hotel. The Maintenance Engineer position at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne is designed for highly skilled professionals adept at responding to guest repair requests and maintaining the functionality and safety of hotel facilities. The engineer will be expected to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities and technical skills across multiple maintenance categories such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical equipment.

Central to this position is the responsibility of performing preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring that tools and equipment are clean, lubricated, and in excellent working condition. The engineer must be proficient in troubleshooting and repairing various hotel systems, from pumps and motors to electrical appliances and plumbing fixtures. Duties also include managing maintenance inventory, documenting daily activities, and communicating with other shifts efficiently. This role requires familiarity with safety protocols, including the Lockout/Tagout system, and an ability to use engineering computer programs related to preventive maintenance and energy management.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience, including surface preparation and painting, and hold a valid driver’s license along with universal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification.
