Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- vocational or technical background
- at least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- valid driver’s license
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
- ability to safely use hand and power tools
- ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- physical ability to move, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders
- compliance with company safety and security policies

Job Duties
- Respond to guest repair requests
- communicate with guests and customers to resolve maintenance issues
- perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
- visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
- carry equipment such as tools and radios
- identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and buildings
- maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
- communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts
- demonstrate proficiency in categories including air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems and controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management
- safely use hand and power tools
- repair or replace PVC copper pipe including soldering
- troubleshoot and perform repairs on pumps, motors, plumbing, electrical equipment, and guestroom items
- program TVs
- perform housekeeping and engineering-related duties
- assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair
- replace light bulbs and A/C filters
- clean painting or repair areas
- use Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work
- operate engineering computer programs for preventive maintenance and energy management
- perform mid-level troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- train and mentor other engineers
- perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities including readings and rounds
- follow company safety and security policies
- report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
- complete safety training and certifications
- properly store flammable materials
- maintain professional appearance
- protect company assets
- welcome and acknowledge guests
- assist individuals with disabilities
