The current opportunity is for a part-time Host/Hostess position located at the Denver Art Museum, situated at 100 West 14th Avenue Parkway, Denver, CO 80204. The role offers a dynamic work schedule from Monday through Sunday, between the hours of 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM, catering to the museum’s visitors and patrons. This position requires candidates who have previous restaurant experience and are passionate about providing exceptional customer service in an upscale setting. The pay rate for this role ranges from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of skilled and friendly team members who contribute to an excellent dining atmosphere.

As a Host/Hostess at Culinaire within the Denver Art Museum, you will be the first point of contact for guests dining at the museum's food service location. Your role is pivotal in setting the tone for guest satisfaction by warmly greeting visitors, efficiently seating them, and managing dining room operations with professionalism and care. The position demands a high level of communication skills, patience, flexibility, and a genuine interest in people. In addition to seating guests, you will play a vital role in supervising dining area associates to ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation protocols. Your responsibilities will extend to training new team members, managing closing procedures, and supporting various service functions including occasional bussing and food service.

Safety is a core value, and you will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in evacuations if necessary. The role also involves operating some equipment relevant to the food service operation, such as iced tea and soda machines, coffee machines, and more. Job Requirements

  • Previous restaurant experience is required
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness to work part-time schedule including weekends
  • Availability to work 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in guest interactions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet and direct guests to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements
  • Help create an overall enjoyable dining experience and promote a safe, clean and neat environment for guests and other associates
  • Exhibit exceptional communications skills and demonstrate flexibility and patience
  • Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • Supervise the activities of food-service associates in the dining room to ensure proper customer service, food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Help train new food-service team members
  • Supervise the closing of the assigned dining room
  • ensure side work and station setup is properly completed
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency safety procedures and help evacuate guests to safety in the event of fire or other emergency
  • Assist with service including occasional bussing and food service while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • Work with staff of other departments during special events or functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
