We are currently searching for a motivated and passionate Host/Hostess to join our Front of Desk team and become an essential part of our restaurant family. This role is a customer-facing position that requires a warm, inviting personality and a genuine desire to please every guest. As the first and last point of contact for our visitors, the Host/Hostess serves as the face of Carmines and Virgil's Real BBQ, greeting guests with a bright smile, efficiently managing seating arrangements, and ensuring an outstanding hospitality experience from the moment guests arrive until they leave.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be highly organized, and thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced restaurant environment. Experience with reservation management systems such as OpenTable or RESY is beneficial but not mandatory. Hosts and Hostesses at Carmines and Virgil’s are expected to act as brand ambassadors by engaging guests, sharing knowledge about the various restaurant locations, events, and catering options, and fostering strong guest relationships to encourage repeat visits. Job Requirements
- Who are professional, personable, organized with a sense of humor and a strong passion for hospitality!
- With experience as a host/hostess highly preferred but not required
- With experience operating OpenTable, RESY, or other reservations systems is a plus
- Who are fluent in English
- Who are bright, warm, outgoing personality
- Upbeat and well groomed
- With a desire to grow with the company and passion for excellence
- With open flexibility to work various shifts
- Able to speak clearly and articulately on the telephone, providing information and answering questions for callers and walk in guests
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a host or hostess highly preferred but not required
- Experience operating OpenTable, RESY, or other reservation systems is a plus
- Fluent in English
- Professional demeanor with excellent communication skills
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Friendly, warm, outgoing personality
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
Job Duties
- Greet every guest warmly upon arrival and thank them sincerely as they depart
- Act as a brand ambassador by engaging guests with information about Carmine's and Virgil's locations and encouraging return visits
- Collaborate with the Maitre’d to manage seating arrangements and ensure smooth service throughout the restaurant
- Answer phones professionally and manage reservations using the OpenTable system
- Assist with accommodating large parties by rearranging tables as needed
- Build strong guest relationships by providing attentive service and helping guests feel at home
- Engage with potential guests both inside and outside the restaurant, explaining the menu and inviting them to dine
- Support the front desk team in all roles to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager
