Job Description
Sea Island is a vibrant and bustling restaurant known for its warm hospitality and exceptional dining experience. Located in a prime area, Sea Island has cultivated a reputation for offering delectable dishes, a welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding customer service. As a key part of the restaurant’s success, the team at Sea Island is committed to creating memorable moments for every guest, whether they are first-time visitors or familiar regulars. The establishment prides itself on maintaining a clean and organized environment that enhances the overall dining ambiance.
The Host/Hostess role at Sea Island is a vital position responsible for being the welcoming face of the restaurant. This job offers an opportunity to engage with guests from the moment they arrive to when they leave, ensuring their experience is smooth, enjoyable, and personalized. The host/hostess will greet guests warmly, provide menus, explain the unique ordering and seating system, and handle waitlists with professionalism and efficiency. This position demands excellent communication skills as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
Beyond greeting and seating duties, the host/hostess actively circulates throughout the dining area, ensuring guests’ drinks are refilled and that they receive prompt attention. The role also includes maintaining cleanliness at the host stand, checking restrooms regularly, and keeping the waiting area tidy. A key responsibility is to verify identification when selling alcoholic beverages to comply with age regulations, necessitating TABC Certification. Additionally, the host/hostess must accommodate guests with special needs, such as elderly patrons or those with infants or mobility challenges, ensuring everyone feels valued and comfortable.
This full-time position requires physical stamina and the ability to remain on your feet throughout the shift while performing various physical tasks such as reaching, bending, and lifting. The ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure is necessary as the environment sometimes becomes busy and demands effective teamwork and collaboration. The role offers an engaging, fast-paced workplace where you can hone your interpersonal skills and contribute meaningfully to guest satisfaction and restaurant success.
