We are currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic host or hostess to join our team. As a host/hostess, you will play a critical role in creating the first and lasting impression for our guests by greeting them courteously, seating them efficiently, and managing the flow of the dining room. This position requires someone with a positive attitude, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will include welcoming and escorting guests to their tables, managing waitlists, answering phone calls, and processing both walk-in and call-in takeout orders. You will also assist with beverage preparation and food order expediting when necessary, ensuring that all food is delivered promptly and looking appealing.

The ideal candidate will be skilled at handling guest complaints gracefully, communicating guest concerns to management, and maintaining the cleanliness and order of the host area and lobby. Knowledge of all table numbers and proficiency with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, specifically Aloha POS terminals, is essential. This role also offers opportunities to engage with various departments such as the kitchen and sushi bar, requiring clear communication to maintain smooth operations. Flexibility in working shifts and the physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods is required. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a team-oriented environment and is committed to delivering high standards of customer service.

  • be willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed
  • work hard to resolve any complaints regarding food or service
  • ability to stand/walk and stay focused and alert for extended periods of time
  • must have the physical abilities to carry out the functions of the job described
  • flexibility to work a variety of shifts

Job Duties

  • Welcoming and escorting guests to tables and provide menus
  • managing the wait list
  • answering telephone and directing calls
  • place walk-in/call-in take out orders
  • may prepare beverages and expedite food orders if necessary
  • may collect payment from customers
  • address complaints of patrons and/or communicating guest's concerns to the manager as appropriate
