Job Requirements

  • No prior experience required
  • Must be well-groomed and maintain personal hygiene
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to see clearly at various distances and use peripheral vision
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Physical ability to bend, reach, lift up to 50 pounds and carry trays
  • Must fit through 30-inch wide openings
  • Must be available to work irregular hours including busy periods
  • Must have time management and multitasking skills
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic math
  • Must be flexible and able to work under stress

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage reservations and waiting lists
  • Basic knowledge of sanitation and safety practices

  • Basic math skills for handling addition and subtraction calculations

Job Duties

  • Reports to work well-groomed and in proper uniform
  • Opens the door for guests entering and leaving
  • Uses greeting, seating and waiting list procedures
  • Seats guests in a friendly and timely manner in person or on telephone
  • Anticipates, identifies and corrects system breakdowns
  • Takes and manages reservations and documents requests
  • Completes wait and table count sheets
  • Provides guests with information about the restaurant and menus
  • Ensures guests leave satisfied, involving manager if necessary
  • Stocks front desk items and maintains menu cleanliness
  • Completes restroom checklist and cleans restrooms
  • Processes To-Go orders
  • Assists servers with pre bussing and other side work
  • Sweeps floors around tables
  • Provides assistance to servers and bus persons
  • Communicates service deficiencies and safety problems to management
  • Keeps management informed of problems and proposes solutions
