The role is for a Host who will be pivotal in front of house operations, ensuring guests receive a warm welcome and possess an excellent experience from the moment they enter the restaurant until the moment they leave. This position requires professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to multitask efficiently during busy periods. The Host will handle duties such as greeting and seating guests, managing waiting lists, answering phone inquiries, and maintaining cleanliness in guest areas including restrooms. They will follow seating rotations and floor plans to optimize guest turnover and support a smooth flow of service. The position is essential for creating a positive first impression on guests and ensuring their satisfaction throughout their visit.

The Host will engage with guests to provide information regarding wait times, menu options, and general restaurant policies. They must handle to-go orders when applicable and demonstrate ownership over sidework and closing tasks. This role demands a team player attitude, strong organizational skills, and a dedication to upholding workplace safety. Job Requirements

  • Previous restaurant, hospitality, customer service, or food service industry experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on guest service
  • Must be able to read, write, and determine wait time based on company's procedures
  • Team player with a positive, patient attitude
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task with a strong work ethic
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stand for extended periods, continuously bend, reach and twist
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Job Duties

  • Warmly greet and seat guests, present menus and create a positive first impression
  • Use a floor plan and follow a seating rotation to assign tables promoting guest satisfaction
  • Provide accurately quoted wait times to support smooth guest flow
  • Observe tables and keep track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables
  • Take guest information for waiting list and quote wait time to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available
  • Clean, organize, and stock menus at host area
  • Answer phone in a welcoming tone and questions concerning the menu and restaurant
  • Interact with guests coming in and as they leave, ensuring a positive dining experience
  • Open the door for all guests
  • Play an important role in front of house operations, supporting teamwork to enhance the overall guest experience
  • Take and fill to go orders, if applicable
  • Maintain restroom cleanliness throughout shift
  • Demonstrate ownership of sidework and closing tasks
