Job Description

White Lodging is a dynamic hospitality company known for developing and operating a portfolio of award-winning, premium-brand hotels, rooftop bars, and restaurants in some of the most desirable cities across the United States. With a focus on creating exceptional experiences, White Lodging understands that hospitality is more than just providing a service—it's about making people feel valued and comfortable in every interaction. The company takes pride in fostering an environment where both guests and team members can thrive, grow, and create memorable moments. White Lodging’s commitment to excellence has earned it a reputation as a leader in the hospitality industry, with multiple properties located in vibrant urban centers recognized for their livability and appeal.

The Host role at White Lodging is an integral part of ensuring guests receive a warm and professional welcome as they enter the restaurant. This part-time position offers a starting compensation of $19.29 per hour, categorized as a tipped position, which means employees have the potential to earn additional income through gratuities. Working as a Host involves managing guest interactions from arrival to seating, ensuring an efficient flow throughout the dining experience. The Host serves as the face of the establishment, providing courteous and attentive service to every guest while maintaining a polished and professional appearance.

This role goes beyond greeting guests; it encompasses managing restaurant reservations, assigning guests to tables consistently to optimize seating arrangements, and supporting servers in their sections. Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant entryway is a key responsibility, along with completing any required side work and upholding hygiene standards. The Host is also tasked with promoting a team-oriented and safe work environment, contributing positively to the workplace culture. Additionally, the Host must be knowledgeable about the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation, to accurately respond to any questions guests might have, thereby enhancing the dining experience.

This position demands excellent communication skills, a friendly and outgoing personality, and the ability to stay calm and efficient in high-volume situations. Flexibility is crucial as the role requires availability for weekends, nights, and holidays when the restaurant is busiest. The physical demands include standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds. White Lodging values its team members and offers Day 1 eligibility for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with paid time off with rollover benefits, wellness resources, and a variety of employee discounts across its properties. Employees also benefit from leadership development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and a 401(k) plan with company matching.

White Lodging’s dedication to diversity and inclusion ensures that all associates work in an environment that respects and values individual differences. As a Host, you can expect a supportive atmosphere where your role is not simply a job, but a crucial part of delivering exceptional hospitality experiences to guests while allowing you to grow and advance within a top-tier hospitality company.
