Job Description

Rocco's has been a beloved fixture in the Belltown neighborhood for over 14 years. Originally known as a hidden gem specialty cocktail bar famous for offering the best slice in town, Rocco's has grown significantly even through challenging times such as the pandemic. Today, it stands as one of the largest volume full-service restaurants in the area, widely recognized for its innovative and well-known bar program. Combining a warm, inviting atmosphere with top-notch food and drink offerings, Rocco's continues to draw a diverse and loyal clientele who appreciate its commitment to quality and community. Staffing is a critical part of maintaining this reputation, and the team at Rocco's works hard to foster a positive, energetic, and collaborative work environment for all its employees.

Rocco's is currently seeking to expand its team by adding a new host. This role is essential in creating a welcoming first impression for guests, managing various front-of-house activities, and supporting both the dining and bar operations. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to stay calm and resourceful in a fast-paced environment. They should be comfortable juggling multiple tasks simultaneously, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability throughout their shifts. Experience with digital platforms such as Toast, Open Table, and third-party food delivery applications will be highly advantageous, as the role involves managing both in-person and online guest interactions.

The position includes a hybrid schedule with hosting shifts and bar backing shifts, which will require assisting with greeting and seating guests, handling "day of" reservations, and managing sometimes large online food orders by boxing, bagging, labeling, and distributing them. Hosts will also support the floor staff by running food and drinks to tables, bussing tables, and filling waters, as well as adjusting table arrangements to accommodate reservations. Bar backing responsibilities will complement these duties, providing a dynamic and engaging work experience that offers the chance to learn multiple aspects of restaurant service.

While previous restaurant experience is strongly encouraged, Rocco's is open to candidates with hospitality or customer service backgrounds who are willing to learn and grow. Following an initial training period, the work schedule will likely include both day and evening shifts, allowing for a balance of hours and opportunities to engage with different facets of the restaurant's operation. Additionally, with Rocco's expanding its in-house delivery and catering services, interested employees may have an opportunity to earn additional income by participating in these new ventures.

In addition to a competitive hourly wage plus tips, Rocco's provides a range of benefits and a positive work environment designed to support employee wellness and satisfaction. Complimentary shift meals and discounted food and beverage options when not on the clock help keep employees energized and engaged. Health insurance through Regence Blue Shield is offered to employees averaging 30 hours per week after three months, underscoring Rocco's dedication to its team's long-term wellbeing. For individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to be part of a thriving restaurant with a strong community focus, this hosting position at Rocco's represents an excellent career opportunity with room for development and growth.
