Sports & Social Bethesda is a unique and vibrant sports bar and social lounge situated in the lively Pike & Rose Development. Spanning 7,700 square feet, this venue combines the excitement of a sports bar with a chic social setting, creating an ideal spot for sports enthusiasts and socializers alike. The venue boasts an impressive array of TV screens, including a massive 18-foot LED display that showcases multiple games and sporting events simultaneously. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the spacious 2,000-square-foot patio, perfect for enjoying fresh air and social gatherings.
At Sports & Social Bethesda, guests can expect an elevated dining and beverage experience. The menu features made-from-scratch items that cater to a variety of tastes, paired with expertly crafted cocktails. The atmosphere is further enhanced by live music performances and special events scheduled several days a week, providing entertainment beyond just watching the game. The establishment also offers a wide range of interactive social games, ensuring fun and engagement for everyone who visits.
The role available is for a Host, a key position essential to delivering the excellent customer experience that defines Sports & Social Bethesda. This is a part-time or full-time hourly position with a pay range of $17.50 to $19 per hour. The Host serves as the first point of contact, greeting guests warmly and ensuring their arrival and departure are smooth and pleasant. Responsibilities include answering phone calls, managing reservations and waitlists efficiently, and coordinating seating arrangements to optimize guest flow and satisfaction.
Additionally, the Host plays a pivotal role in maintaining communication between guests and management, quickly addressing concerns or issues to ensure a positive atmosphere. Flexibility is also important, as duties may extend to occasional bussing of tables and anticipating the needs of special parties or events. This dynamic role requires a combination of interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the physical ability to stand, move, and carry items throughout the shift.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year of customer service or hosting experience
- fluent English speaking ability
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to stand and remain at one location for long periods
- capability to carry or lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to perform physical activities such as bending and kneeling
- must be able to read and understand seating charts
- availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in customer service or hosting
- fluent in English, other languages preferred
- strong communication skills
- ability to interact positively with guests, employees, and third parties
- ability to read and write, frequently used for managing reservations and seating

Job Duties
- Answer the phones and take messages or reservations
- maintain an accurate waitlist when necessary
- welcome guests upon arrival and bid them goodbye to create a lasting positive experience
- greet guests in a friendly and upbeat manner to ensure satisfaction
- communicate effectively with all guests
- report problems to management immediately
- coordinate seating arrangements to provide fast and courteous service
