Job Description

Waterworks Aquatics is a premier swim school located in San Jose, CA, dedicated to teaching children as young as three months old and adults how to swim with proper technique and safety in mind. Our mission centers on educating and motivating individuals to become safer in and around water while fostering confidence and skill development in swimmers of all ages. As a well-established institution, Waterworks Aquatics prides itself on delivering exceptional and safe experiences to every family and individual who walks through our doors. Our facility is more than just a swim school; it is a community that values learning, growth, and support for all members of our team and our clientele alike.

We are currently seeking a Host to join our vibrant team in San Jose. This role is a unique blend of hospitality, customer service, and organizational skills in a fast-paced, family-oriented aquatic environment. As the Host, you will be the first point of contact for our families, greeting them warmly and setting a positive tone for their entire visit. You will assist families by providing clear directions, answering questions about our programs and layout, and helping to manage the flow within our facility’s lobby. Your role is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of our guests.

This is an entry-level position with no prior experience required as paid training is provided to ensure your success. The pay rate is competitive at $18.45 per hour, and the position offers flexible scheduling options that can accommodate school or other commitments, though weekend availability is necessary. Beyond day-to-day responsibilities, the role offers growth opportunities including cross-training in various areas and leadership development, making it an excellent choice for those looking to build a career in customer-facing, hospitality, or recreational program roles.

In this role, you will also handle retail and snack purchases using our Point of Sale system, help maintain a clean and safe environment including lobbies, restrooms, and changing areas, and support special events such as facility tours and birthday parties. Your ability to multitask efficiently and maintain a positive, helpful demeanor will greatly enhance the experience of everyone who visits Waterworks Aquatics.

Waterworks is not only committed to providing high-quality swim education but also to fostering a fun, supportive, and inclusive workplace culture. Our benefits package includes dental and vision insurance options available for part-time and full-time employees, a 401(k) plan with company matching, paid training, regular performance reviews every six months, and employee discounts. We believe in recognizing and appreciating our team members through various company events and parties that celebrate our collective achievements and foster team spirit.

Joining Waterworks Aquatics as a Host means becoming part of a dedicated, professional team that values integrity, approachability, and reliability. You will have the chance to make a meaningful impact on the families we serve by ensuring their visits start and continue smoothly. If you are passionate about creating positive experiences and enjoy working in a lively, customer-facing environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you to grow both personally and professionally while contributing to a safe and enjoyable aquatic community.
