The company operates an impressive collection of hospitality brands such as TAO, OMNIA, Marquee, LAVO, Beauty & Essex, Cathédrale, Little Sister, The Highlight Room, Sake No Hana, KOMA, Avenue, Fleur Room, JEWEL, among others. As part of Mohari Hospitality, an investment firm focused on the luxury lifestyle and hospitality sector, Tao Group Hospitality benefits from over 25 years of expertise, consistently setting industry standards and redefining the future of hospitality worldwide.
This part-time Host position offers hourly compensation ranging from $17.05 to $20 per hour and provides employees with an array of benefits including state applicable time off, pet insurance, a 401(k) retirement program with employer match, an employee assistance program, access to the TAO savings marketplace, employee discounts, and additional perks. The role of Host is vital in ensuring guests experience the highest level of service and hospitality from the moment they arrive.
As a Host at Tao Group Hospitality, you will serve as the first point of contact, greeting and guiding guests to their assigned tables under the direction of the maître d'. Your interaction will extend beyond seating guests as you engage warmly and courteously with guests, colleagues, and supervisors to cultivate a welcoming and hospitable environment. Responsibilities include maintaining a professional appearance in line with the Tao Group Hospitality standards, anticipating guest needs, and upholding cleanliness and orderliness at the entrance area in compliance with health and sanitation regulations.
The Host role also involves managing reservations, assisting with incoming calls, handling guests' belongings such as coats, and supporting daily operational tasks including setting up the front desk, printing and organizing menus, and conducting opening and closing side-work duties as assigned by management. Active participation in daily pre-service meetings and ongoing training sessions is expected to ensure you remain informed about company standards and hospitality trends.
Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment such as a restaurant, nightclub, or lounge demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and bend for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions is essential. Flexible availability, including varying shifts during days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
Tao Group Hospitality also embraces innovative hiring practices, utilizing an AI-powered platform by Landed to assess candidates based on their ability to perform the job tasks, self-rated skills, and overall fit for the position. This technology facilitates seamless interaction, screening, and interview scheduling while allowing candidates to request accommodations or alternative selection processes if needed.
In summary, this Host position offers a dynamic opportunity to be part of a prestigious hospitality group known for excellence and creativity. You will contribute directly to the guest experience, working alongside a team of dedicated professionals committed to delivering superior service. If you possess hospitality and host experience, thrive in fast-paced environments, and enjoy engaging warmly with guests, Tao Group Hospitality provides a rewarding setting to develop your career while enjoying valuable benefits and a collaborative workplace culture.
