Job Description

Little Dipper is a distinguished restaurant located in Wilmington, NC, that has earned a reputation for providing exceptional dining experiences tailored to special occasions and meaningful nights out. The establishment prides itself on creating an environment where guests feel valued and never rushed, emphasizing warm, personalized service and attention to the finest details. Our commitment to high standards means every interaction from the moment guests arrive sets the tone for an unforgettable experience. As a locally cherished destination, Little Dipper continuously strives to uphold a polished and welcoming atmosphere that celebrates hospitality and culinary excellence.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Host & Busser to join our team who embodies professionalism, warmth, and meticulous organization. This role is essential in ensuring that the dining area operates smoothly and guests receive seamless attention throughout their visit. Unlike typical front-door positions, this job requires someone proactive who instinctively notices what needs to be done and communicates effectively with both guests and team members. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for hospitality and take pride in creating a positive and well-coordinated dining environment. The position offers a competitive wage ranging from $10.00 to $20.00 per hour, reflecting commitment and experience. This is an in-person role based in Wilmington, NC, and requires availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate our guests’ needs.

As a Host & Busser at Little Dipper, you will play a pivotal role in shaping guests’ first impressions and ensuring that every visit is memorable for the right reasons. Responsibilities include welcoming guests with professionalism and warmth, managing reservations, arrivals, and wait times efficiently, and maintaining a seamless table flow. You will also be responsible for seating guests and setting an inviting tone to begin their dining experience. Beyond greeting and seating, your role will involve clearing and resetting tables thoroughly and quickly to maintain swift service. Supporting servers by providing water service, table upkeep, and preparing the dining room for optimal readiness will be critical. Effective communication of guest needs, special requests, and celebrations to the broader team will enhance personalized service and guest satisfaction.

This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and appreciate the significance of hospitality that extends far beyond serving food. Little Dipper values employees who are friendly, polished, dependable, and capable of maintaining composure under pressure. Attention to detail and anticipatory service are highly regarded qualities that distinguish our team members. Experience in restaurant hosting, bussing, or customer service is preferred, but the right attitude, maturity, and professionalism are equally important in ensuring success. We offer an employee discount, flexible scheduling, paid time off, professional development assistance, and a referral program to reward and support our team members in their growth and work-life balance.
